Future College Student Family Program

Audience: Parents, guardians, and family members

Description: Rural Peer Ambassadors and parents of current college students visit school to teach college-going informational sessions to parents and family members of high school students. These sessions are organized by grade level to cover topics related to the different stages of college-going and better meet the informational and resource needs of parents and family members to support their students.

Exploring! Grades 9-10

Format(s): In-Person

Schedule: ~1-1.15 hours per session; during the school year

    • Identifying students’ needs and wants
    • Post-secondary education options
    • Higher education lingo and terminology
    • The college search process
    • Understanding college costs
    • Preparing your student for college – what to do while in high school

Preparing! Grades 11-12
